New pets yay!

My uncle still loves to pamper me and he sent me two parrots on Thursday, Dad and I are enjoying them 100% as we both love animals so much and our toucan escaped a few months ago. As I write this I have both of them on the table and they are enchanting me with their sounds and colorful feathers, it is a couple so I named them Pintuga and Pitungo hahahaha my niece loves that word and she is the only one that knows what it means so in her honor I chose those names I am happy, here some pictures of my new babies:

Virtues, defects and gifts....

Embedded image from another site

It is well known all of us have virtues, defects and gifts. We need them in order to interact with others. Sometimes, some of us, forget we have them and act in ways that may not be the best or correct ones, but we need to remind ourselves we are humans therefore we make mistakes.

This afternoon I received some sad news, there is this person I know who is a music teacher and he sings, he actually can sing in a beautiful way and he was diagnosed with lung cancer.

The reason I'm writing this blog is because he was devasted with the news and said a line that got stuck in my head, "I don´t have other gifts, music and singing mean all to me", and, this made me think, do we actually know what gifts we posses? do we appreacite them or exploit them? I tried to encourage him to discover new gifts tokeep his mind busy and offered my help for it; then I thought what gifts that I don't have I would love to have?....Singing,I would love to have a beautiful voice and sing professionally or just for the pleasure of sounding good when I sing... because it is not my case blushing

I can mention virtues: patience, kidness, humility, courage, benevolance, caring, charity, love, compassion, confidence etc...I don't have all the virtues that exist and I have defects and gifts, I am compassionate, I get grumpy easily and would love to be have a great voice so I could sing for others to enjoy my voice.

Have you ever wanted a gift/talent you don't have? Which is your favorite virtue and worse defect in a person?

Mine: I love temperance, I dislike arrogance and would love to sing

Does music have a positive influence in your life?

Embedded image from another site

How important is music in your life? Sometimes I wonder if everybody have this kind of fascination for music as I do, or if I might be crazy lol. I know lots of people enjoy music but, have you ever felt the need to just be in a room with music of your pleasure and yourself... I do ... I consider this my sacred place when I want to absolutely forget about everything and relax. It is amazing the emotions a song can awake in one self, I love music, I absolutely believe I must have been a musician in my past life laugh Today is one of those days in which I only desire to be locked in my room enjoying the art of many talented artists that delight me with their comppositions and beautiful voices. This is like my compensation for one of the most difficult weeks in my whole life and realizing again that some people or things will never change and I just have to live with that.

Well that's life, no one said it will be easy but instead of being down I get up and fight back enjoying the rays of sun on my window and MUSIC to feed my soul....

What influence does music have on your life?

My busy weekend :)

I had to travel to the Capital of my country, Tegucigalpa, to go to the Supreme Court and the Department of Interior to get some papers for some clients. I honestly don't like the capital, however my aunt lives there and she makes any trip worthy lol plus I "have" to go for work. It's a 4 hour trip on a bus that it is very comfy and once I get there its a non stop day. From here to there, from there to here, the court, photocopies, paying in banks, making lines hearing with a judge blah blah busy day. I left San Pedro at 5 am and got there at 9 am straight to work until 3 pm I was able to go to eat at a fine fine place where the chef is Canadian and HE IS GREAT! I had by far the best roast beef with Russian salad sandwich, OMG I loved it, then I could go to 3 malls, yeah, you read good, 3, my auntie is a fanatic of all malls rolling on the floor laughing so when I'm there I go with her .... I was absolutely exhausted by 10 pm I wanted to go dancing to Sabor Cubano, but I was done sleeping very early. On Saturday we had a long conversation with my aunt, had the chance to see my cousin that is getting married in July and it was nice although I was desperate to come home and wrote a small blog about it rolling on the floor laughing came home got ready and va boom I could finally relax with my friends and had some beers listening to a new band that has an awesome lead singer, this dude could play the violin, electric guitar, sing and the harmonica I was like wow, he was singing Van Halen songs soooooo good I really had a great time. This morning I woke up late, relaxed, then went to the market and cooked some chicken soup and a steak and oh boy I watched a hockey game and now I will simply enjoy the comfort of my bed...

I hope all are having a nice weekend, I have a rough week coming, I celebrate a wedding on Tuesday, I have to travel to Roatan, then Tegucigalpa again and on Saturday I am invited to a wedding in which I plan to DANCE the night away tongue

My Home: HONDURAS

As I promised in another blog here is a small portion of what I have to say about HONDURAS, my home....

I live in Central America, in the very heart of it, as a lover of life,a person that can't stay still (I go anywhere on this country) and being Honduran by birth, I can assure you guys this is the BEST place on earth blushing At least it is for me.

I come from San Pedro Sula, Cortés, I have lived here all my life and so far I have never had any trouble concerning security, in fact I have traveled almost all Honduras by myself, it is why I have completely fallen in love with my home and I share these facts with you! So from a Honduran you can know that every where I have gone I have made friends easily, people has been warm hearted, have shared their places, stories, smiles and even food. We are humble, we are happy, we love to party. Our families are the most important, also our religion. We breathe and sweat soccer. We enjoy the simple things of life and we are RICH in nature and beautiful landscape, God has really blessed us.

We are great cooks and dancers, we have beautiful women and excellent beer. We have hardworking and honest people that wish to be better every single day of their hard life, because yes, some people here have a hard time surviving but that is never a reason for people to be sad, we celebrate every thing, we get together, eat and dance.

We posses treasures: Copan and the Biosphere of Platano River to mention some, both have been declared as World Heritage by UNESCO and we have the Bay Islands, that have Roatan considered one of the ten best spots in the world for scuba diving recently mentioned on National Geographic.

With bad and good this is the land that has seen me grow and I have enjoyed all it offers, therefore I write you with sincerity that if you ever want to visit Honduras you won't regret it!

We have about 8000000 inhabitants, 112000 km2 and we border with Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Our main language is Spanish but the ones at the Bay Islands speak English, our currency is called Lempira and some of our well known products are shirmps, bananas and cofee. Most people here are Catholics and we are home of Punta music and conch soup.

Enjoy the pics. If you leave a comment I appreciate respect, thank you.wave
