how well do you really know a person

i recently discovered that a friend here on cs and in my life had been a fugitive the whole time we had contact. it is scary to know how many times i had him in my home, that i trusted him, that i was so blind. we really dont know everyone the way we think we do, sure opened my eyes, the hard way i must say, he was a working citizen, kind of a loner, and always thought he was being watched and now i know he was...ooh, be careful out there, be cautious of the company you keep

It is so great that you learned of his fugitive status. I wonder why CS doesn't have an automatic background check in place?
