Back Thru Time:

When the cost of cruising and a date was $5.oo,you could all night, take your girl ta a movie, drive down to Coney Island, and have a snack at Nathan's.Performing at The Fox Theatre in Brooklyn where Murray Kaufman did all the Rock"n"Roll shows,he was called Murray the "K",standing backstage, waiting to go on next, talk about a high, nothing like it anywhere, hanging out with guys like Johnny Maestro,Dion DiMucci,Tony Carlucci of The Impalas, when the cost of a Corvette Stingray was $1800.oo,and you picked the "Candy Apple" colors you wanted,Vets were two toned in those days, alot of us have bowed out,a few of us are still here,Rocking and Rolling,to music with a beat, lyrics you could understand, and relate to,and I am very proud to have been and still being a part of all that,I wanted to share that thought with those who read this.Have a great Christmas, from all of us,to all of you.Sincerely,"The Original Chevelles","The Echoes".Chuck Bruni

Those were god times. Gas was 25 cents a gallon. We would hang out at the newest McDonalds. every would pitc in a quater and we would ride around all night. Walking home from a football game and stopping at the " Pizza House" . Everyone was there and if no room we all sat on the grass. We all had transitor radios tuned in to that best radio station. [I don'think my kids know what that is]? My dad bought a Chevy Impala 1959. The tail lights had the big fins looking like Chinese eyes. He paid $1995.00 for it and I was young and thought he meant $19.95!!My older brother would imatate and use his air giutar and sing "Duke of Earl" over and over again. My favorite was Petulia Clark, "Downtown".
Good times and kids, today do not know what they were missing. handshake wave dancing
I do remember "The Chevelles", Nice for sharing!
