Christmas seems like a time for everybody to be nice to each other (they can't seem to do it all through the year). The history of Christmas shows this, late December is important in many cultures. Christmas started as a pagan festival to celebrate the lengthening of the days (it's just after the shortest day) and Christianity placed the birth of Jesus at this time to appease the pagans. Many other religions and cultures have celebrations at this time too. So it seems to be a time that is significant for everyone.
This Christmas I am making a dinner not just for my granddaughter and myself, but also for her father, his girlfriend and her mother.
Granted this is more than I planned on, but I will show good will towards them by accepting the added guests. This is after all a time for giving and not receiving.
God bless you all....
