iPhone 4

I was thinking of buying my friend who lives in Europe an iPhone for his birthday...

If i buy an iPhone in the US can he use it with a European SIM card?

If it's factory unlocked then you can use it anywhere, cmiiw..
Coz a friend of mine bought his I-phone 4 in singapore and use it in Australia, Indonesiea, Spain, just everywhere!

I am waiting for I-phone 5.. grin

if its unlocked, yes you can use it, but I guess its not. But you can "crash" a cellphone. I always have a american cellphone when I am in the usa and it doesnt work here in germany. It doesnt accept a german simcard. But if your friend knows how to crash it, then will be working here. And yes you need an adapter.
