Love itself is not complicated, it's us humans that complicate everything in life. We are walking feelings and very complex beings, that said, I would honestly tell you, from what I've learned in life. Based on your scenario, I wouldn't die for the one I love
First of all, I don't think I've yet met the one I love, see. In my whole life I have only felt that I've been in love once!! Just once! And there was this one time where I felt that if he was not to be around in this world anymore, I would perish. Then it came the time that I felt that it was just an illusion, because there was like this roller coaster where it was all so up and good and then so down and distant. So, I came to the conclusion that even though he was the closest to what I've been yearning for, he was not completely it. Now, after some years, we have drifted apart even though we still close. So, in this case I am glad I was able to see that I can live without him and he without me. Perhaps if he was the father of my children and he was in a better health than me, or in a better position to care for them than me, I would do it for my kids and because then I would think that he would care for his kids too, before any other woman.
Now, if we're talking about my two dear and real loves like my children...then yes!!! In a heartbeat I would not think of it twice.
