The Boy & a Tree

Once upon a time, there was a tree that loved a little boy very much. Everyday, the boy would come to visit the tree, swing on its branches and eats it apples. Time went by, the boy found new friends and new things to do, and the tree was left alone.

After a years the boy came back. The tree said, “Come my friend, swing on my branches and eat my apples.” But the boy did not have time, he asked the tree if he could give him money. The tree said, “ I have no money. You can take my all apples and sell them in the market.” The boy did and the tree was happy.

He did not return for a long time. When he did, the tree was so happy, it shook its branches and leaves with delight. He said, “ Now I am married, Can you give me a house ?” The tree said, “ You can cut my all branches and build a house.” He did so and went away, and the tree was so happy.

Years passed and he came back. “Come on, climb on my trunk,” Said the tree. He said, “ I am too sad to climb. My wife has left me and my children have gone away. All I want is a ship, so I can sail away and never come back.” The tree said,” You can carve my trunk and make your boat.” So he made a boat and sailed away, and the tree was happy – But not really.

When it was at the end of its life, he came back. The tree, now it was a stump said,” I have no apples to give you.” He said,” I have no teeth to eat them.” The tree said,” I have no branches for you to climb.: He said, “ I am too weak to swing on them. All I want now is a place to rest.” The tree said,” That is one thing I am still good for. So come and sit on me.” And the tree was happy.

Sitting on the stump he felt peace and asked the tree, “What is it that I can give you?” And the tree said. “ Give me that what you think you should give me.” So, he planted a new tree, and the tree was so happy.
