Wojdan Shaherkani
She just made history in the 2012 Olympics by being the first woman competitor from Saudi! Please google the Los Angeles Times and read the full story. It is a tear jerker for a 16 year old girl tossed in at the last minute to appease the critics. She lasted a whole 1.5 minutes but when it was over she got a tremendous round of applause, as did her opponent, for being what the Olympics is all about. A tournament of sports in good spirit!
You will be appalled at what some of her countrymen, and I do mean men, are calling her!

The first woman from Saudi Arabia whos a player of Judoka, to bad she lost but well is a start for the country that they let a woman to participate at judo olympics. Is a good start
Wush you a lovely weekend!!
What it all comes down to it appears that the "official" just randomly "threw" in a woman, any woman, to quell the critics. It really backfired on them if that was the case. Just my opinion.
Yeppers, they still don't get it. Women are equal and that's all there is to it!
