All the lives we could live

I love this quote from Aleksandar Hemon
"All the lives we could live, all the people we will never know, never will be, they are everywhere. That is what the world is.

This CS site applies to the quote. The endless possibilities of connecting with people all around the globe....but alas..alack..most people we will never know.

and i love this one wave

“We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.”

Tupldrf, My primary reason for joining this site was to connect and hopefully make friends around the world . I am pleasently surprised at the success of that endeavor . I realize that this is primaraly a dating site and I always leave that possability open but I do relish the fact of meeting so many nice people .

I also realize that every media has it's distractors but just as in real life they are not the majority . I'm very pleased that I did join and more than happy with the people I have met . Some I relish as real friends and I'm extremely glad I met them . . .handshake

We are indeed the lucky ones but isn't it tragic that many of the "lucky ones" are so caught up with their fear of death that they are afraid to live.
Frankinstien....you're right, this is a great place to meet people from around the globe & exchange ideas. Thanks for stopping by.
But if we are all one with the Universe, then you know everyone automatically, right? thumbs up handshake peace
St Elmo....being one with the Universe has nothing to do with knowing...being one with the Universe is more of a membership card...representing or in some cases misrepresenting the human race as a member of the Universe. Very few people even know themselves.
Redex....Fortunately I know what my left hand is doing since I'm left-handed.
Redex....I think that we're on to something. Three out of the last 4 American presidents have been left-handed...probably not a good thing.....
