ok the connection is real life and the movies

the sun has set so it is officially the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross(actually have the church's crufix in my car which contains a small piece of the actual wood of Christ's cross(all Catholic churches have these)anyways i shall have to decorate this with flowers for the special holyday service tomorrow night. anyways thinking of the Cross and the petitions and so forth...and with what happened on 9/11/12 wish to talk about the problems between Catholics and Muslims (Moors in Spain many centuries ago) and of course in the movie the main character was portrayed by none other then Charleton Heston...yes, my favorite movie of all time,"El Cid," My Lord...in this epic movie the Christians and Moors battle it out...the war is won, and the Moors are driven out by El Cid...for a long time...interestingly enough he was an actual figure...in the movie he is named this by a Moor whom he had rescued and they became good friends...but in one of the memorable scenes, one of the followers of El Cid is being tortured...and a Moorish leader speaks to him is this agony worth it...and the reply is it is an honor to die for El Cid... so the Moorish man's response is...(something like) so it is...then let this be a war between your God and our god and he stabs him violently to death...in a battle later on El Cid is wounded mortally...yet instead of having a doctor's intention he keeps the spear in him and rides on with a cross on his clothing, leading the Christians unto victory and into history...the parallel is that this still goes on today w the murder/the asssination the other day...it is still a war between faith traditions...

when i looked this up on the catholic enclycopedia it was stated that El Cid was friends with emirs....who he had helped out and they became friends and joined forces...against ben
Maybe it would interest you to know that the origin of santa claus is also situated within the interactions between the christians and the moors. Not quite sure how the story goes but one of the bisshops or a priest called saint nicola gave some children from the moors his cape to prevent them from freezing. That saint nicola was the man that in my country and some other european countrys is still remebered as "sinterklaas" He does pretty much the same as Santa Claus but he still has the traditional clothes of the Christians. Later on in time "sinterklaas" would be transformed into santa claus as you know him today.
yes teddy st. nickolaus was a great man who lived in the 3rd century who helped a lot of people...yes i do know what u r saying...also wish to state that a child of mine, who died, who named nickolaus in his honor...(painted an icon dedicated to him) also with what is going on currently in many arabic lands due to what happened this 9/11 that the man who wrote and produced that movie was a coptic...which has been split AWAY from the church back since 451 ad...they r NOT under the pope and he is considered definetely a schmistatic and now w this i leave it to the Pope!ps shall be back i have to go help my daughter
