A CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS (attempted poetry)
A CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS
Eyes on stalks they cannot wait for santas arrival will he be late
or would he turn up to newly deliver on such a cold night it makes them shiver
but then in remote distance sleigh bells ring right on time for his prezzies to bring
these eager kids with beaming smiles if they're not a sleep he'll wait a while
musn't be seen keep this mythical legend going until we find the truth into adulthood growing
but while were small we believe so true this red coated wonder will come down chimney flue
to offload the goodies both near and far to all corners of the globe and bethlehem star
with trusty reindeer to support his travel for oodles of toys for young ones to unravel
on that christmas morn his yearly duty fulfilled and for glasses of whisky left out for him swilled
at earliest light the little ones rise in their excitable sleep awake to the surprise
of parcels galore and treats to behold as the pomp and ceremony begin to unfold
the days just a starting for all of children to show christmas is not lost by their warmth
and their glow
somehow makes it all seem worthwhile:
not the best i know but i do like to try my hand at poems merry xmas all
