Christian truth is not a series of statements, code of ethics, or program of religious observations. Jesus is the truth. Christianity is Christ through the Holy Spirit.
Jesus always wins the day. People can say nothing against Him. Nobody else saves and heals, expels devils and fills people with incredible joy. ONLY JESUS!
The fire of God tests each one, what they are. It fills believers with dancing joy but scorches the godless. The impact upon different people is vastly different. What we are determines what the fire will be to us or do to us. The prophet asked “who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? (Isaiah 33:14) Well, some can with delight, but some cannot. “Thank you for your fire, Lord Jesus.” Greetings. /R.B./
At this time it was fire, at other times, it was through other means.
Remember the God's angels also appear as fire (e.g. the burning bush).
We must be careful not to read more into what is written than what is just written.
We must also remember that God has chosen and distributed the "gifts" of the Holy Spirit in differing ways, and that some of us "vessels" are for show as parts of the Body of Christ are for show. But some parts of the body of Christ are not for public view, and their role is just as important and precious and essential in the body of Christ.
For me, I received a pouring into me like water, then a washing over me like a baby being bathed.
Laugh all you who want to, but this was profound, and life changing. It is at these events that I began the warfare we are called to engage in. Am I successful most of the time. I don't know.
Some of us are front-line soldiers, some of us are nurturers, some of us are eyes to see, some of us are hands to hold up the weak.
Let us all rejoice in each other in Christ, and let us understand that we each have a unique calling, or choosing (as it may be).
God is not like man's systems. He does not create a mass product that is all the same, he creates unique products to conform to the image of his Son the way he deems fit.
Also he does not manifest the Holy Spirit the same way in all of his chosen and called ones.
"A sprinter must run to demonstrate what lies in him and we must go for God to realize the anointing of the Spirit. Until then we shall feel ordinary and the devil will tell us we are. Yet the anointing is there when we need it. Even in a casual witness, perhaps in the street, the power and anointing of God operate. David was anointed. He slung a stone from a shepherd’s sling at a giant, and God gave it the velocity needed to fell Goliath. By the anointing our witness has impact and force. Whether we see it or not, God is with us." /R.B./

What we are, determines what the fire will be / do to us.
Insurance statisticians can’t cancel God’s call or will.
God does not treat pensioners/ older person/ as a spent force – not while He empowers them with the Holy Spirit. Keep going for Jesus. God will keep blessing and using you./R.B./
