The Inspired Word of God is without error

A common objection to the notion of the Bible being God's inspired Word, is that it was written by men, and men make mistakes. This complaint misses the mark for two reasons.

First, it does not logically follow that because humans were involved in the writing process, the Bible must be in error. Mistakes may be possible, but they're not necessary. To assume error in all human writing is also self-defeating. "The Bible was written by men, and men makes mistakes," would be suspect by the same standards. The fact is, human beings can and do produce writing with no errors. It happens all the time.

Further, the challenge that men make mistakes ignores the main issue- weather or not the Bible was written only by men. The Christian accepts that humans are limited, but denies that man's limitations are significant in this case because inspiration implies that God supersedes man's liabilities ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17: 2 Peter 1:20-21).

After all... "If God exists, then isn't He capable of writing what He wants through imperfect men?" This seems hard to affirm. The notion of an all-powerful God not being able to accomplish such a simple task is ludicrous. If God is capable, then man's limitations are not a limit on God.

The divine inspiration of the Bible automatically solves the problem of human involvement. If God insures the results, then it doesn't matter if men or monkeys do the writing, they still will write exactly what God intends. Since...

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). NKJV

According to this verse: God is the "source" of everything, that is written in His Word.

For inspired Scripture did not originate with human beings, but with God (2 Peter 1:20-21).

Hello sir,

In regards, to different denominations within Christianity, there is doctrinal "unity" on the essentials of the Christian faith, but "diversity" when it comes to nonessentials. It is not difficult to get agreement on the venerable dictum...

In essentials unity; in nonessentials, liberty; and in all things charity.

The essentials are the "basis" of unity within the Christian faith, since they are connected to our salvation and are foundational to what we believe as Christians. For there is no true unity, without unity in the truth.

The secondary issues (nonessentials) is where there is differing of opinion. We can debate rigorously over the nonessentials of the faith, without dividing over it.

We can all be of the same mind (as to the essentials), but different in opinion (as to the nonessentiles).

Weather we agree or disagree, we should do all things in love.

In regards, to people's own ideas and perceptions of how they see God and the Bible, alot can said concerning that, since a person's world view makes a world of difference, in how they view or interpret all of reality.

The Bible makes it clear that human beings are in rebellion against the God who is there, since what may be known about Him is "clear"(Rom 1:18). Man's main problem, is not his perception of the truth, but his rejection of it (1 Cor. 2:14).

For the Holy Spirit can only illuminate people's understanding of spiritual truths, when they are in a personal relationship with God, through Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Cor. 2:2-5).

As to the Bible, being without error...

God cannot Err.

The Bible is the Word of God.

Therefore, the Bible cannot Err.

If the premises are true, then the conclusion is also true. For the Bible clearly declares itself to be the Word of God. It also informs us that God cannot err. If the Bible erred in anything that it affirms, then God would be mistaken. but God cannot make mistakes.
