Happy People Are Optimistic

Optimism Grounded In Faith:

How happy are you if you look into the future and see nothing but bleakness and negativity? Not very. sigh The power of optimism has been shown over and over to affect not only happiness but performance and well-being in life. Optimistic and hopeful people are happier and healthier, both mentally and physically. applause Even their immune systems work better (Carr, Positive Psychlogy). hmmm We can say from research that optimism will "immunize" both your body and your brain.cool

Focusing on positive thinking and working on changing your thinking styles is important, but positive thinking grounded in faith is even stronger.flex When we are grounded in a relationship with God, we can face whatever difficulty we are experiencing. He promises to do that. handshake Not only that, but so much of the unhappiness in our lives has to do with our own failings, personal issues, hangups, and the fear that we can't change. moping "Why can't I be different!" is often the cry of our souls when we fail or when we blow it in some way. Well, the certain answer of the Bible is that "you can!"thumbs up

God promises to make us different, as we ask Him to change us. He promises to transform us over time and turn us into better, more mature people, and the Bible says he will complete the process:

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns (Philippians 1:6).

No matter what your last failure was, if you ask God to change you into someone who will be different, He will.writing God promises to take care if our needs, to lead and guide us, to create a future and a hope for us, and to change us into who we need to be are grounds for the most optimistic and, therefore, healthiest and happiest lives possible. As the Bible says,

If God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)?

That is optimism indeed. So when life hits you hard, and if you have faith, you can look to the future with a hope that is real, because it is grounded in Someone much bigger than you.yay

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Hey Smart

I couldn't agree with you more! applause

Being optimistic in our thinking and being positive in our attitude is a powerful combination, in handling all matters, relating to this life. handshake

Thanks for making that connection, in sharing your words of wisdom.

God bless! teddybear
Totally agree with all you said and put in such a way everyone can understand.
My cup is always half full to overflowing and most of the time the latter.
The power of positive thinking is a powerful thing and with God's power to drive it in our lives we are awakened to see and be a part of miracles around us and within ourselves. The miracle of understanding who we are and of our purpose here in mortality.

I think of the energy people spend in being negative which only ever leads to misery. Sad that some do not feel the joy of positive thinking which makes you rich no matter what your circumstance with God at the helm.

Great blog... Once again! I love your positivity it is contagious. Very thought provoking.
Thank youteddybear

Self suggesting positive thinking/optimism and finding it in faith in God or putting faith in giving/receiving positive energy from Universe as good Karma or putting fate in Humanity;it's all great what ever brings Light to all of us handshake wine
I like your Blog, I know what you say is mostly true, but not entirely. There are many good Christians, and God loving people who have wisdom and who read scripture, they suffer terribly with Depression and other Mental disorders.
There is a very warped thinking in some Cult Christian churches that Depression or any sort of Psychosis is the Devil taking possession of you. This is totally untrue and has been shown to be untrue, just as Epilepsy was thought to be the work of the Devil.
Alot of people [myself being one ] come from awful backgrounds where we had bad upbringing and little love or no love from parents who abandoned us. Also there is scientific proof that the lining of the Brain of depressed people is thinner and that certain neurons are not working properly.
I am not pro pharmaceutical but there is terrible Depression which makes your thinking very distorted, saps you of your energy, leaves you open to diseases and lowers your Immune system. There is great fear and anxiety in this Depression and it takes your will to live away. It cannot always be helped by prayer, or by positive thinking which, given the state of the persons Depression is impossible, unless you have suffered from it, it is hard to understand or even grasp the pain. So it just makes people who suffer like this feel guilty when they shouldnt.
I believe God put Doctors in our path. Its like saying if we have Cancer just pray, dont take the medicine or have the operation, Mental illness is no different, and to be positive and happy in Christ doesnt stop somebody from suffering from the awful illness God bless x
Well, I believe I have the best of both worlds as I do believe in a higher spirit and another dimension out there where we will all meet again one day.I also believe in reincarnation and the on going search for awareness and enlightenment but without all those dusty old scriptures telling me how to live my life along with those horrible consequences should I stray from that pathdoh(I had enough of that brainwashing when I was young but luckily i escaped) To each his own but its certainly not for me.
I live my own life and ill take my chances out theregrin
But the main difference is I am prepared to admit I may be wrongdunno ..God forbid that any of you guys should utter those words eh!
Very good blog brother God blessthumbs up
Enigma,..I like your stylewink wine wave
Hi Seren,

Excellent blog! God bless you!
A possitive mind is a healthy mind.
Ravensgold, Theilhard de Chardin [catholic philosopher and writer] wrote about our quest to be one with God eventually and he alluded strongly to reincarnation. He got into trouble with the bosses in the Vatican, but such was his following, and so strong his writings and so convincing, that his writings are to this day revered by alot of people. I think it makes sense that we are on a path of learning and when you look at the lives some people have you just know, they are on a low level of evolvement, others seem very highly evolved. Hope this makes sense. I do believe in Reincarnation and nothing will stop me from believing this. There us much we don't know. My God is a merciful God, a spirit of love.
