VAWC

My friend file a complained against her husband with the case of VAWC (Violence Against Women and their Children) In this Act R.A.9262 it covers the Physical, Psychological and Economic abuse. Those 3 are her complaint to her husband.

What do you know about this case? I have a brief knowledge about this however I still wanted to get your suggestion ,opinion or intelligent advice . Psychological test result is done and both mother and son are suffering from Physical,emotional and economic abuse.

Do you think they will win the case against the father?

If it's in the Phils and the husband has some power clout ie, if he is moneyed or with relatives who knows how to pull the string, then it would be scary. Otherwise, just disappear together with the son and live elsewhere cutting off all contacts known to him. Here in Japan, the govt gives an all out support to the victim of DV. Choosing a good life partner, I believe, is a matter of fate. Some men just doesn't treat women as a real partner.sigh

If you had the legal act ruled about it, then the evidences are collected and cleared, then, like Non mentioned, it is depend on the judicial system in the country. If the have a good governance, they might likely to win the case. However, in some country, where the system is still weak, this could be hard to win, and even harder if the suspect is such a powerful and a public figure. He has the money and the power to influence the law and the court system. Best of luck for your friend and the children. They need more support from families and friends.teddybear
