The LA County Fair Revisited!

I went again last night to see a real good Salsa band playing. It was The Chino Espinoza Band.

They were jamming when up walked a young kid right in front of the stage. He was about 6 and he was blowing a small plastic trumpet that emitted a beep noise like the halloween horns do. He just began blasting away and even though you couldn't hear him because the band was too loud he still played his little heart out. The trombone player looks down, sees him, sees how cute this kid is and he motions the young kid up on the stage.

The band leader takes the cue and "interviews" the little boy. It was so cute. Mr. Espinoza asks him his name. And very loud and clear with no hesitation answers, "Pepe".

The band leader then announces that this new star was going to make his debut with his band. When he asked the young boy to play something the kid puts the horn to his mouth and "beeps" it. The crowd melted. They laughed and clapped.

The band leader then announced they would play a song to introduce Pepe and they started jamming. At each break Mr. Espinoza would hold the microphone in front of Pepe's trumpet and Pepe would emit a beep. Actually, it was more like a goose squawk. The crowd laughed with pure enjoyment and in happiness clapped for Pepe.

This got the crowd so aroused with fun and laughter the floor filled up. Pepe's debut was a success and everyone clapped and cheered when the song finished. Pepe's face glowed with a huge smile!

People were taking so many pictures you'd think it was a Fleetwood Mac concert with the camera's flashing away! His father then goes to the stage and gently and lovingly carries Pepe back to their seats!

Here for your enjoyment is The Chino Espinoza Band!!

Pepe might be very happy cheering Hope this motivates him to learn it well and to play the trumpet more. Who knows one day he becomes a professional or a star even smile thumbs up wine
