Distance

Ok, so this is my first blog on here...so please bear with me.
I truly don't understand why some people that are sooo far away try to contact me. dunno
Not that I'm saying I want to meet someone in my "backyard", but come on...I'd have to take a vacation, just to meet with some of the people that have sent me messages.
I truly believe that you can't really know and learn about someone just from e-mailing/phone conversations. People can throw many words out at you and convince you to think that they're one way...turns out...surprise!roll eyes They're not.
So, can anyone help me out here? Am I being unreasonable? Just my thought for the day. Thanks!

I would have to say YES and NO. I have done just that and 7 years later I finally had to wake up and just face the fact that the person I meet over seas was never the person they portrayed themselves to be.

That's it, you would have to visit that person and I suggest they visit you, if they can, most can not. You would have to visit them several times before their true colors start to show and I would take several years just to make sure. Most people don't want to put in that effort, we live in a quick pill society, the quick fix.

I know many very happy people who have meet people on the net that lived halfway around the world and are happily married for many years so it's not impossible, they must have meet someone that portrayed themselves to be the way they really are and they got what they wished for.

So, it's up to you, are you up for several vacations? What is good about the Internet is the entire world is open to you and it's up to you to decide how much your going to limit yourself by how far your willing to go for Mr. right.

In spite of the fact that I have gotten burned once, I am a hopeless romantic, a warrior at heart and I would still travel to the top of Mount Everest for my soul mate just to give her a flower from my back yard.
