A VISIT IN YEMEN

YEMEN (March OF 2014). SAANA IS AN ARCITECTURE OF THE DREAM...
Life is like a book . This who does not travel reads only the first page.....

When i decided to travel to Yemen the previous year all my friends were dressed in black. Some of them recommended me to write my last will. Finally they were right. I was shoot twice. I was lucky because they did not find the target. I recommended them not to shoot between the legs because this is very dangerous for the future generations.........
In Yemen all people is wearing in the waist a kind of knife called Jambia or the have a gun.
I m asked sometimes why I travel to strange or mysterious countries them to give the explanation that this is a kind of escape. No it is not the truth. For me the trip is an addition of quality of life , a fountain of knowledge.
Yemen is wrapped in the legends of Saba s queen and the stories of Sabah.
Sanaa the capital city is a city coming from one thousands and one nights. Every building is an architecture of the dream!
In ancient times Yemen was known as Arabia Felix, Latin for "happy" or "fortunate". Today, Yemen is neither happy nor fortunate but it acquired the name because its high mountains attracted rain, making it more fertile than most of the Arabian peninsula. In 26BC the Roman general, Aelius Gallus, led a military expedition to Yemen that ended in disaster, a cautionary tale for the modern age.Yemen is the country of coffee.Mocha (al-Mukha), on Yemen's Red Sea coast, was once the centre of the world's coffee trade. Coffee was especially popular with Sufis who drank it to stay alert during their rituals. Today, coffee (along with qat) is still one of Yemen's most important crops. Qat is the most popular drug in Yemen, with effects similar to amphetamine. Chewing starts after lunch, with men and women in separate rooms. Leaves are plucked and gently crushed between the teeth until a wad builds up in the cheek.. Qat is a stimulant, so chewers without religious scruples often wash it down with whisky in order to sleep.

Passion is a strong force. It is your passion that drove you to go to Yemen. Your passion is more important than life. Some people like me prefer the safe road.
