RE: BEYONCE'S COUNTRY ALBUM

Yeah and it ain't Nashville either mumbling

How many more doleful ditties about broken hearts, wives/dogs leaving or whatever do people need to hear, seriously roll eyes

RE: Is COVID on the rise...

Definitely on the rise in these parts conversing

My son, who lives with me, became very unwell a couple of weeks back with a very sore throat & congestion on his chest that he couldn't shift.

After a couple of days of this he looked dreadful, I recommended he see a doctor which he declined but agreed to a rapid antigen test which returned a negative result.

He became so unwell that I drove him to a medical centre (both wearing masks) where he had a Covid swab test which returned a positive result within 48 hours.

He is still recovering in terms of energy levels & appears asymptomatic now but I'm glad I am fully vaccinated (I had the latest booster a few weeks back), put in place distancing measures & upped the hygiene levels in our small home as so far, touch wood, I have had no symptoms and have remained well.

RE: Depression & mental illness

Thank you mbken and gonelikethewimd for your kind comments, they mean a lot to me hug

RE: Depression & mental illness

Witchy this is a sad indictment on our governments who continue to fail those of us who are carers, in addition to those we care for.

I could talk for days about this as I have travelled alongside my son who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 23 (he's now 43), advocated for him, collaborated with mental health services, countless phone calls, emails, tribunals etc. but nothing has changed in terms of his support or mine.

My son shares my home and every day is difficult, in terms of separating the person from the illness in addition to medication that is often adjusted without notice.

I love him dearly and will continue to support him as long as I remain on this mortal coil, but can I just say that grief sits alongside this as this is not the life that we envisaged for our children of course blues

I have also worked in this field for the past several years so it's a topic dear to my heart, thanks again for creating this blog and opening up discussion about mental health hug

RE: Depression & mental illness

Excellent blog Witchy thumbs up

This is a complex topic and I think the more we talk about it, the more insight we will gain and hopefully this will be valuable in terms of not only the vulnerable people in our community but ourselves and the loved ones we support.

We need to lift the lid on mental illness and make it a common course of discussion, it's nothing to be afraid of and education is key thumbs up

RE: Depression & mental illness

I would also be interested in clarification around 'the other side of the matter'.confused

Good for you mb for having shared your mental health journey, this opens up discussions and helps to combat stigma around mental health issues which many of us experience either personally, through lived experience with a loved one or both handshake

RE: Man 64 yr-old man seeking woman, 18-35

I tend to agree with you phat conversing

I expect the OP is saying what many may think of this situation, however it really isn't anyone else's business thumbs up

And anyway, in terms of the roulette game that is online dating, go hard or go home I say..

RE: International Cusine

My daughter was a huge fan, prior to AB's untimely death sad flower

Nice blog Lou wine

RE: International Cusine

Luke is my No. 1 favourite thumbs up

I've been a fan for years and his tomato, pepper tofu recipe has been on high rotation in ny kitchen since I watched one of his shows in the early days conversing

I enjoy how he immerses himself in the culture of whatever country he is travelling in and find him charismatic & super talented while at the same time, humble.

He was recently a guest judge on Master Chef AU, was good to see him grin

RE: Useless trivia

Pigs can't look up at the sky sigh

'It is physically impossible for pigs to look up straight to the sky. It’s the anatomy of their neck muscles and the spine that limits the movement of their head and restricts them to look totally upwards. Even to look at a tree top, a pig has to take one or more steps back while lifting its head to see directly above it.'

I'm gonna find me a pig and lift it up so it can see the sky, the moon and the stars heart1

RE: Burial at sea...

I hope it's ok if I do a bit of a debrief about this sad flower

I know many have been following this since news first emerged, as I have..

My first thoughts were I had no idea that people participated in this kind of activity, quickly followed by claustrophobic, panicked feelings about being sealed in a capsule on land, sea or otherwise, with no form of escape..

I just hope these people passed without suffering and can only think of their loved ones now sad flower

RE: I decided to give him a blog of his own...

I think this is a bit mean Chatillion sad flower

My thoughts are that there is room on here for everyone; Ches is a long-term member and yes, sometimes his posts appear a bit out there but they are obviously meaningful to him and quite often to others also.

Obviously it's your choice whose comments you allow on your blogs, unlike the forums that I mostly inhabit conversing

And have been known to carry on like a pork chop regarding other members' comments but let's not discuss that right now laugh

RE: CS site

Wishing you all the best with your search for a partner Timotie wave

RE: CS site

Hi Timotie

The only marriage I know of on here is between Mimi and an American man.

Mimi shared her experiences in terms of her difficulties regarding gaining entry to the US but they are apparently now living happily ever after heart1

RE: Straight mean people.

You're 19 for god's sake, harden up as life isn't easy and no one owes you anything.

If you're going to be a cry baby you're only going to make life harder for yourself.

RE: Life journey

No, it isn't.

We do not have children and expect one of them to have a lifelong disability conversing

This alters our life course as a parent and primary care giver and affects our choices ongoing as an individual.

No one would choose this.

RE: Choose For Me, Please..

In your dreams maybe laugh

RE: #15

laugh

I think it would be interesting if site admin would like to participate in a discussion around their decision to remove comments from this blog, yet permitted a blog from MermaidHair who appeared mentally unstable, admitting to entering her boss's apartment uninvited and having delusional thoughts about men who she felt may be attracted to her.

Then was supported by American members regarding her ambition to buy a gun.

Is it me or do others find this completely incomprehensible, if not irresponsible confused

RE: #15

Interesting how this conversation was shut down but this one wasn't ...

Hmm.

RE: Finding a date is hard - so I am giving up.

Hi Philipsen

I have always enjoyed your blogs, they are refreshing and interesting and you come across as a good-hearted, honest and resourceful young man.

I know this is not much comfort for you, coming from a mature-age lady (you've probably heard it all before) but I feel there's a lovely like-minded young lady out there and you just haven't found her yet conversing

Please don't give up, keep doing what you do, enjoy your life and one day your paths will cross.

I wish you all the best handshake wine

RE: If CS suddenly closed their site...

In having viewed your new profile pic which includes an exquisite female whom I assume is your wife..

If it were me I'd be spending that time with her grin

RE: Musk backed OUT on the Twitter deal

No idea.

I was as astonished as you were when she reappeared after the disgraceful, slanderous, bigoted content she repeatedly posted on here.

Should be booted permanently thumbs up

RE: Musk backed OUT on the Twitter deal

Probably booted again, online 15 hours ago.

RE: What do i have to do or change on my profile to get noticed?

You have invited comments regarding your profile and search for a partner many times in the past.

People respond with helpful suggestions but you don't respond to them.

Unfortunately, disability is not appealing to others on dating sites, harsh but true.

Your best bet would be to connect with disability services in your community and participate in social activities and groups which they provide.

You may then get opportunities to mix with people who share your hopes, goals and aspirations handshake

No one is suggesting we do.

The OP once again, by the looks of it thumbs up

Maybe the mods have finally banned her for good.
