Burial at sea...

Since Sunday, the 21-foot tourist submersible named the Titan had gone missing, news sources repeated the same story simply because they had no hard facts. Thursday morning, Debris found 500 meters from the Titanic are believed to be from the missing submersible Titan. The only confirming fact at this point is an implosion failure and all on board have perished.

Who was on board?
HAMISH HARDING
SHAHZADA DAWOOD and his son SULEMAN
PAUL-HENRI NARGEOLET
STOCKTON RUSH

What did they expect to see?
A once-in-a-lifetime close-up viewing experience of the Titanic that went down 100 years ago.

Whats next?
Additional searches to recover the bodies and all parts of the submersible.
Investigations as to how and why this disaster occurred.
Lawsuits upon lawsuits...

A fool and his money will soon depart.

Reports, each paid $125,000 - $250,000 to go to the depths of the ocean where the maker of the submarine cut cost on material and a game control was used the pilot the sub.

The expensive toys and games of the wealthy could be better use to help the less fortunate. frustrated
What law suits, they all signed the dotted line.
All 5 are dead at the implosion.
Wonder who gets the tab for the search and recover bill? Get lost in the mountains you're liable for the rescue ... Anywhoo ... I heard something about the company fighting the designers a few years ago of the sub thickness saying 5" was not enough and wanted 7" for absolute safety ... caught it in passing if anyone knows more. Sad time indeed hearing about it.
The contracts would almost certainly have included clauses indemnifying them... and acknowledging knowledge of the risks. Space tourism is understandable (bearly), but Wreck tourism is pretty hard to grasp.
Correct. I just listened to a few hours of reports tonight and some comments were from people who were actually on the Titan. One was a reporter doing a story and another was actually a passenger on a previous expedition. The contract clearly spelled out the dangers of the exploration.
There were some redundant systems for emergency to get the craft back to the surface but, the entry/exit hatch can only be opened from the outside. So they had to be docked for that to happen.

The latest I heard was all means of communication were lost within a few hours into the excursion.
Actually, if you've read contracts, it's a solid line and not dotted.

Since it was an experimental vehicle that carried passengers for profit, they may or may not have had some safety regulations or requirements. All that will be will be brought up in an investigation.
barely that is ... (was that a spelling hijack I wonder, or just cearless! laugh )
Nit picking about a spelling error with a smiley emoji doh

Whatever the comments on here 5 people have lost their lives in a tragedy at sea. Can we not respect this and stop having an inquest as to the cause and leave that to the authorities concerned.

R.I.P sad flower
No.
We all wonder how this could have happen and with good reason.
Lawsuts I think is tasteless, but anyways o.p didn't really mean to overfocus on that I'm sure.
I hope it's ok if I do a bit of a debrief about this sad flower

I know many have been following this since news first emerged, as I have..

My first thoughts were I had no idea that people participated in this kind of activity, quickly followed by claustrophobic, panicked feelings about being sealed in a capsule on land, sea or otherwise, with no form of escape..

I just hope these people passed without suffering and can only think of their loved ones now sad flower
No??????????????

Not everyone questions why people do things that would appear insane to the average person.

Look back in history at explorers that have died, 5 expeditions to the Antarctic .The North West Passage springs to mind, The climbing of Everest which has claimed over 300 lives. Some people love a challenge .

No-one except those on the submersible knows what happened .The young lad who, as Secret pointed out,was rather scared of the project may have had a panic attack and disturbed the balance so we should at least show some respect for their demise don't you think.handshake
@ moth 'nit picking'? idiot! I was laughing at myself!
How do they assess these submersibles for wear and tear? And how often?

Because it sounds like they've been sent down there in what amounts to a snow globe. To lose it on the descent suggested implosion to my mind even before the debris.
This was an experimental vessel, and there are significant signs of cutting corners, particularly when selling tourist tickets.
Well Said i am sure they has left loved ones to mourn & has humans we snould respect that, myself i don"t think that anyone should go down there, we all know the story & the deaths of those that went down with her & how it happen, I have sailed over the Titanic"s resting place couple of times on a 65 ft fishing boat, The skipper would always let us know when we were sailing over her, I remember going up to the top deck first time couple min before a very beautiful night Moon Shining & sky covered with stars, & not a draft or any sea swell, & when the skopper anounced the Titanic is now below us, i got this chill over my body the feeling you are being watched, Not saying i was but just thinking back in1912 on this spot the screams & cries for help that must have broken the sea s silence, would give anyone the chills,
switch, that's a good description as the Titanic is really an underwater cemetery.
While it drew more attention for the 100 year anniversary, I feel the explorers weren't considering the supernatural.

Mermaidhair did a blog about the Titanic that offers lots of details.
I linked it here:

The waters they were exploring were considered international...exempt from government stipulations/regulations...so safety went out the window sort to speak...

I would never put myself in jeopardy to begin with but how much information was divulged to passengers in regards to safety standards...

A foolish voyage...no doubt...sad flower
The majority of that well written post of mine were not my words But Mr Google himself..Because I had & have been keeping tabs on this subject I knew it was best for me to copy & paste as I would of stuffed up trying to convey what I wanted to convey

I mentioned floated which was the wrong word a stuff up but hey I don't bother making extra posts to correct my mistakes which are many laugh
Yea, I do that all the time too hehe.

Yes poor bstrds onboard but atleast they felt no pain.
Now I hope future dives to Titanic will be done only with
approved vessels.

Cheers
With all the stories I've heard, none have mentioned recovering any of the cellphones or video equipment the explorers had with them. I'm sure they were all shooting live video when the implosion happened.
