So it goes off in sacrament meeting. I am embarrassed trying to fumble in my bag to switch it off help Remember it is new! ... Don't know how to switch it of frustrated So goes sheepishly out of the chapel hole with it still bleating out the music, to suss it out... Whilst sorting it out..out comes my son with my handbag... (Looking like' mother what are you doing?!?!?!' mumbling) hands me my bag with my OLD phone bleating out!!!! uh oh Of course I had set both the phones just in case I missed one...as you do! moping

A mid-autumn festival sadness.

I always remember one afternoon, that day
On the river named "CuaLap"
An unforgettable image ...
On a small boat carrying that heavy a family
Including a couple and three young children.
The husband lost his leg, he tried to paddle movement again and again
The wife and first child, they are fishing.

I stood and watched them for a long time
trying to understand their family situation.
The husband looked at me and turned his head to look somewhere far away.
Newborn baby sleeping in a crib awake and crying.
His mother was sitting near the stove
Work cook prepare dinner.
I wonder how many fish they have received?
And they will have to sell all of the fish had so that to buy rice?
There is enough rice to feed their families satisfied?

The little girl is sitting next to the kitchen fire
her hands spread on the flames, they were kept warm.
She has black eyes and round, chubby little cheeks, black hair smooth,
Her eyes looked innocently to the stranger (me)
Innocent ages, she is not understanding what is
the sorrow and bitterness laments,
That's just has undergone parents.

That night the full moon and bright,
The night's main holidays of children (mid-autumn festival).
The type of lantern and fireworks
are lit up to welcome "ChiHang" (moon) and "ChuCuoi" (a character in mythology)
The other children receive candies, jams and cakes, which have participated in the festival, but she was not present among the lucky baby.

!!! Poor girl, the baby is innocent,
She was not part of that day fun night!

Above are a few thoughts I had in mind when I saw
Mid-autumn festival night ... a lone sailboat...!

Sorry about your grandma but your story is too funny!!...made me laugh!laugh
Namaron,

I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Nam I was in the same place like Wallops and how frustrating it was.

Sorry for the disturbing intermission of your sacred but elating passing of your grandma. Mine was 103, healthy, alert and never sick and like you, we're not sad anymore, she believed as we all do, catholic that to pass away is not dying but a beginning of a better life.

Thanks for the laugh.
Xuan what a very profound account your poem is.

Thanks for sharing. Went back to the corner and read it, and there's so many people who looked at it and perhaps read it but few commented.

A most emotional account of witnessing the brutalities and atrocities of war.
Thank you Lindsy
Wish have no warhug angel
