"INTO MY CHILDHOOD"
I Can Remember When I Was 7 Years Old...On The 4th Of July We Would Go To Capron Park..There Would Be Contests For The Kids...Followed By Fireworks That NightI Entered A 100 Yard Race(About 10 Of Us Little Boys
We All Got On The Starting Line
The Man With The Starter Gun Raised The Gun High In The Air
And....POW!!!!!.....We Were Off!!
And Here We All Come...Running Our Little Butts Off
All The Grownups Were Yelling..GO...GO...GO!!!
I Can Still See The Kids...Crossing The Finish Line
And Running Into Their Fathers Out Strecthed Arms To Catch Them
You Know ..Im Sure That Means A Lot To A Little Kid
Having Their Fathers There To Cheer Them on And To Catch Them At The Finish Line
My Father Sat At The Picnic Table A Ways Away...Not Even Watching The Race
That Stays With Me As If It Was Yesterday
I Won Third Prize(A Little Stuffed Dog)
But My Father..............................Wasnt There

I never had one while growing up....
However, my maternal grandpa sort of made it up by being the coolest grandpa in the world
You have a child right?...don't dwell on the past...there is a lesson in your father's distance...it hurts...so don't repeat his mistakes...My father wasn't winning any parent award either...but I have learned that he did the best he could under the circumstances...his father wasn't that wonderful either...we need to stop the cycle...but times have changed...fathers are much more involved with their kids than previous generations...
Might It Be Better To Have Had No Father At All
Than One Whos Always Rejected You?.......Just Wondering

There isn't a moment that I don't think about my childhood and about my dad.
He passed on when I was 9yrs old.
One of the best memories I have of my father was , he was there for me when circumstance, and time said he wouldn t be able to.
For myself, I find ,if I dwell in the negative, (it makes me too miserable )
Careless people are DEADLY.
Happy new year! Good remember those old days...I have a lot and I try make lots of good memories with my son, always amazes me every time we sit and talk and he starts with " Mom, do you remember when...." feels good
Remember to phone me when you get close and you and I with Jim will probably hook up for a cup of coffee.
