Not in my world it doesn't work.I appreciate presents but the idea that someone is using a gift as Band-aid is actually really unhealthy when you think about it.
I think that it's teaches the wrong doer doing so with a quick material fix erases the need for communication and they'll probably do something wrong again and makeup for it by buying another material gift.
