Down to Earth to me means someone who is not off with the fairies. People who do not have unrealistic expectations and live in a dream state. DTE people are honest, sincere and open. I don't think it is about tastes but an attitude about life.
'down to earth' to me is a person who is honest, modest,and doesn't look down upon or think they are better than others
"Down to Earth" to me is a person who does not have an overly inflated ego. Therefore, they have both feet on the ground..

So , what is your definition of being down to earth ( eg " im a DTE female who enjoys getting her hands dirty but can glam up etc etc etc )
Mine is not wanting the expensive wines , or the exotic meals , or going to restaurants where the side order of fries costs a months salary...
