Buying an investment house

I wouldnt say its too good to be true , i'd say people are scared of buying a flood house , and i dont think many are looking at it for investment , but to live in personally. Im looking at another house in warwick currently , but might keep my eyes on this one and see what happens in the next 6 months.. Its been on the market for well over 12 months now.

RE: What your car colour says about you!!

My car is currently red body , black doors , white front bumper and bonnet , undercoat guard , and silver/blue tailgate and black tonneau cover...

whats that say about me?

That i need to paint it!!!!

Buying an investment house

So i have the possibility of buying a house $100,000 less than market value , mainly because its 90% complete ( refurbished )after the 2011 floods , it would be investment only. If you had the oppertunity to do it , would you buy it knowing insurance wont be cheap , and knowing future resale value wont be very high due to flood history. It went 7 foot under , so ceiling fans , ceiling gyprock and roof electricals didnt get wet. Walls replaced , bathroom replaced , kitchen replaced , its in livable condition , but needs finishing off.

Thoughts?

RE: Merry xmas

Happy xmas and merry new year!

RE: Selling cars

even bank cheques can be forged , i buy and sell cars all the time , if you get an sms 90% of the time they are tyre kickers , if they call , they are genuinely interested 70% of the time. NEVER let a " shipping agent " come into the conversation , or anyone on an offshore oil rig. Always ask for a phone number so you can call them to talk if you think its a scam , if its not an 02 etc area code , or not a 0401 etc aussie mobile prefix dont bother calling , it might cost you $20 per second.

Crazy little thing called love

yeah wash , i actually have kinda got plans to tell her what the go is/was. It'll never happen , i accept it now , original post was just a vent i needed to get off my chest.

Crazy little thing called love

I know the age thing for me isnt an issue , i have dated a 21 y.o when i was 31 and we BOTH had a blast. BUT she might look at 40 as being old , im not her , i dont know , but i do know that the friendship between is quite good and i was hoping to take it to the next level , but i dont think that will happen. The friendship wall is there and i dont believe she will let it break. Thankyou all for your insights and advice , i managed to get a phonecall for 3 hours the very next morning from a female on the sunshine coast keen to meet , but due to the circumstances of her situation , i cannot take it any further.... Cliff notes for that one: noticed her accent , told her my boss has same accent , worked out she knows my boss , and her ex hubby who i have met is very good friends with boss , so i indirectly know her and the family divorce history. So to not put strain on my working relationship with boss , im declining a possible start with this lady.

Crazy little thing called love

she is 27/28 im 40.

Crazy little thing called love

No it was not a date one on one persey , but it was time together to what was hopefully a chance to connect more. I asked one friend to come with me , then asked another to be "backup" if the first could not come. This was 2 months ago. They are both friends with each other , and found out i had asked both. Now i did not ask both to come , 1 was to be a backup incase the other couldnt make it. Now The lady in question knew about my feelings , without telling her directly , i am sure i made enough comments and threw enough body language her way for stevie wonder to know what was happening. I was being a gentleman by taking my time and showing the caring side , helpful side etc etc etc!.

And yes , they disappeared long enough for it to be a quicky , neither of them smoked , so it wasnt for a smoke. I have been put in my place by the other friend that " im too old for her" , and " toughen up princess" as i was disgruntled last night , i just now need to move on. I do however enjoy the fact that i felt *love* ( smitten ,butterflies etc etc etc ) as i havent honestly felt like that in 10 years. So i will pick myself up from my feelings , wipe off the dust and continue on the lonely dusty road waiting for that car to stop and pick me up.

It comes down to i was too old , and i dont have "the look" that females want.

And please , no BS about " you look fine " as if i did , i wouldnt be single.. I already have the right stuff inside for someone.

Crazy little thing called love

Been Keen on a friend for a little bit now , and i can honestly say , its been a very long time since I've felt this way , very "smitten" by her. She is a bit younger than me , has a 9 y.o son who i get along with really well ( thats always a good start ) , and last night i took her and another friend to a work function i organized.

So the night is going well , i keep the drinks coming , conversation is good , then some guy who is friends with one of my workmates starts chatting with her , long story short they disappear for a while , then come back hand in hand etc.

Finally i felt something , only to have it ripped away again..

Had to vent , and i know , if she is willing to do that , then not worth it. So now i have to find the "off" switch and go about life in a semi normal way.

Sometime i wish i wasnt me.

RE: Black Caviar

Has a longer stride than any other horse , thats the winning combination

RE: a bloke who hates women is a misogynist, what do you call a woman who hates men?

smart!

So hows your year going so far?

How is it,better than last year? getting more done , going on more dates? or still stagnant and going nowhere?

Mine has been pretty good so far , and i believe it'll get even better..

p.s neighbors had a party last night and i can hear someone throwing up... its quite funny actually ( take me back to my party days a little.. )

RE: dating a single parent

anyone in my age group is almost certainly going to have kids , im a big kid , so i get along fine with kids.

I havent looked at your profile , but i'll guess your 26. Most younger guys dont want to be looking after someone elses child , they'd much rather be looking after their own , or able to still go out and party , or just hook up for a one nighter/FWB arrangement.

The right one will come along , just give it time.

RE: Wheels are in motion

stay married , have bank account in your name , wait till she rich and famous ,divorce her then and take half her money.

Works in the movies laugh

Interesting courier mail article

I guess the thing to do is find the next dating bandwagon and jump on it.

Good film to watch is called " Idiocracy " , its a B+ grade ,but shows where we are headed in the future.

its also good for a laugh , why? because its got what plants crave!!!

RE: What would you do if you loved someone and suddenly became paralyzed?

If i was the one who was injured , i'd ask to have my life ended. If i had to care for a loved one who was injured ( and dont forget , im talking 25 hour a day care , unable to do a single thing ) , and they asked to have their life terminated ( flick switch etc ) I would understand.

I wouldnt want to be a burden on anyone , life is made to be lived. I firmly believe that people have the right to make their own choices in life. Now by saying this , a perfectly healthy person should not commit suicide , as there is " light at the end of the tunnel" , and things would and can eventually work themselves out , but terminally ill , or severely injured persons should be allowed a choice. When a horse breaks its leg , its put down , how can we make a choice for a horse , when it would choose for life itself?

Im not sure if you'll all understand my way of thinking , as normally , it differs vastly from others , and sometimes its hard for my to portray my words into valid sentences.

RE: How does one arrange a CS get-together? I'd like one to happen on the Gold Coast

If you make it relatively central , a few brisbane peeps might make an appearance. Also , when picking a place , make sure its got big tables , and no loud music so you can hear conversation.
I used to organise meets many moons ago , at greenbank RSL , they have 2 restaurants , and another area with a live band ( starts at 9pm from memory ). It also helps in planning a place if you know how many would go , this way you can pick a place to cater for lots , or a place for a few.

RE: """"" LOTTO"""""

This will sound weird , but the times i have won lotto ( only small wins ) , i get a "feeling" , like an urge , to buy a ticket. Even when the big 60 mil draws etc are on , i dont feel like i should buy a ticket. Last feeling i had , netted me $21 off a quick pick. Havent bought a ticket for a few months now , only really think about it when i see the signs out on the road advertising a big draw , but even then i wont go buy unless i feel that i should be buying for that draw.

Oh , 90% of the time when i get an urge , i win.. There has only been once where i havent.

RE: """"" LOTTO"""""

Most people use birthdays , which means the amount of numbers above 31 is very slim , so choosing numbers above 31 will slightly increase your chances.

RE: Do many men actually decline friendship requests from women on CS?

I have fixeded my profile to be full of profily goodness lol.

this should bring them in , in droves!!!!

Ha.

That is all.

RE: Do many men actually decline friendship requests from women on CS?

Naaa... thats not a quote from my profile , was just explaining about how its a pisstake. Im not expecting to meet anyone from here. Im officially on 15 singles sites , varied profiles , but all truthful , and getting no hits...

Sad isnt it.

Oh , the other profiles arent anything like this one ( humor-wise ).

RE: Do many men actually decline friendship requests from women on CS?

In my defence ( it had been a while since i wrote my profile ) , most of my list is a pisstake , the last line tells you this , but im guessing not many people would have made it that far.

Im not too stressed though , i think i've exhausted the "matches" , so now its only the forums and all your banter that im here for lol.

RE: Do many men actually decline friendship requests from women on CS?

Errr , that doesnt include a piece of 4 x 2 hardwood either laugh

RE: Do many men actually decline friendship requests from women on CS?

Is my profile really that bad?

Im all for suggestions , i mean , i wrote it , so im only writing my own perception of myself ( insert barney stinsons awesome looks and charisma lol )

If you have something that may help , feel free to hit me with it!

RE: Wild weather

my power didnt go out , and the worst of the storm is over , its all about the bremer river peaking now and flooding ipswich. Im nowhere near that , and there was plenty of sightseers out and about on foot checking the flooded bridges out. I went and checked on a friend , but didnt get to another friends place as both bridges were cut.

RE: Wild weather

Just went for a ride , centre of ipswich is sandbaggged , about 50cm till it gets into town , its lapping in the side streets atm , another few hours till it peaks.. Its not as bad as the 2011 floods thankfully. Bridge near my place isnt under yet , maybe 1m till it is , but i dont think it'll go.
