There are parents without partners clubs have you thought about joining something like that you could meet the right guy in that situation. Also give it time some single men don't mind if you have a child.
I met my ex when his and my daughters were 7 yrs old so together we raised them to be lovely responsible young ladies today. Even though we aren't together now we did have 17 of the 20 years of quality time together. Not everything is forever but still to me was worth it. JMO!

anyone in my age group is almost certainly going to have kids , im a big kid , so i get along fine with kids.

I havent looked at your profile , but i'll guess your 26. Most younger guys dont want to be looking after someone elses child , they'd much rather be looking after their own , or able to still go out and party , or just hook up for a one nighter/FWB arrangement.

The right one will come along , just give it time.

My niece has 2 children from her marriage. At 26/27 she met a great guy (okay, he is Irish) and he adores the kids and they adore him. They have been together for 3-4 years now and still going strong.

Mate was still a bachelor until nearly 40. Met a girl/lady with a 18yo son. 15 years later they are still together (no, the son has moved out since).

Worked with a guy who thought he was the Italian Stallion (he is in his late 30s). Trouble is that he could probably be the stand-in for Uncle Festor. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

He spots some hot chick and goes to chat her up. He is still single. What really peeves him off is that I am 60 and the 20-30 year olds all talk to me. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Truth be told, they know I am being friendly and not trying to jump them.

So Dolphingirl, don't give up hope, there are some nice guys out there. thumbs up thumbs up

Just focus on guys who maybe have a kid or kids of their own, that way you have something in common at least?

Hard for a young guy with no kids to be restricted, if they want to party, go watch the footy,, just be spontaneous then it is too hard for them to relate to the 'parent' thing.

Unless you meet an absoloute gem? heart wings

Hang in there, not all men are really men at your age, my first ex had an eight month old when I met her, I was 22 at the time, she had just turned 19, but we met playing darts on the weekend, no internet back then, met my second wife playing darts too? I gave up playing darts,

Thats the problem Nat , its a risk thats quite large . I made the choice that I would raise my kids on my own as I saw how they were affected by their mother string of males . Risks are not the same for a male looking after kids finding a partner , there are others . 75 percent of relationships fail when there are children from another relationship . Long odds , I think its about half fail anyway . Where there are no kids , toss a coin , fifty /fifty not bad, worth the shot . Kids around , that means you have to win 3 tosses out of 4 . Its just too tough on the kids .

that’s ok in theory epirb!
But in real life you are not replacing a parent! You are just adding a partner for you,
My kid has a mother! Its my job too teach her! Not someone else, the kid is fine with me dating so long as my dates don’t start telling her what to do! Which is fair enough as I wouldn’t start too tell someone else’s kids what to do unless they asked?

Its different when the kids are little and there are a few of them . A new partner can't help but be a parent . Thats not a bad thing as alot of the missing parents are bums anyway The odds are simply one in four making it last . It must have an effect on children seeing new partners come and go .

Did they know you have a child before you met them? If they did (it is in your profile at least by now) I don't understand why they object.

Is the child well behaved? Some kids are better than others, but at this age they all want to have their way...

Hi I know ( Exactly ) how you feel as I am a divorced mum of a young child & no it's not at all easy..ppl have lived & things happen , but I to am really hoping to find someone who can & will accept my child & myself for who we are...I know I shouldn't but at times I do get disillusioned..
