The packing plant in Postville had over 600 illegals working at it then and they didn't get time off from work, the ones who work in the chicken and hog houses didn't get off work, twoo other meat processors in the area did not give their illegals time off, so I think we have a representative sample if it were to have affected anything, I didn't see it.

Much like the Roman Empire in ancient times, a smooth path to citizenship is serving in the imperial military. There are thousands in the US military who seek US citizenship in that manner. Most are from US pseudo-colonies and/or Latin America.

Here is a probable consequence;
If all illegals were sent back, these select employers, whom hire illegals would be forced to shut down (or drastically minimize) their businesses. This is a given, but it would NOT bring the US economy to its knees. Why?
Simple.
It would force those employers to increase wages in order to draw in unimployed Americans to fill the void.
But do you seriously think these employers are willing to do that when they can easily line their pockets with cheap labor?
I seriously doubt it.
