It is official, today March 30,2009 Obama Motor Works(OMW) is formed. Now we will see how an auto company is to be run. Harken back to the great motor cars of Vauxhall in the 1950's and 60's when Britain nationalised industry.
The UAW was beside themselves with joy when the announcement was made as it protects their retirement and legacy costs with taxpayer dollars. The head of the Lansing, MI UAW was confident that all GM needed was a new leader with vision.
Having never run a business, or worked in one for that matter, Obama can look at the auto industry with an unbiased view.
Government has the best and brightest and we welcome the new era of efficient nationalisation.
Go get em Barack!

Hugz_n_Kissez: Kewwwwwwwllll...I wonder if he'll give me a deal on my next car....

The rumor is that in order to finance the legacy costs, they will raise the price $5,000 on average, but give you a $10,000 tax credit if you buy before the end of this year. Of course Ford will be $5,000 cheaper and you still get the $10,000 tax credit on that purchase too. But, with Ford you won't have the satisfaction of bailing out both the car company and the union like you will with your purchase from OMW>

I heard it was actually going to be called 'IOU' - like about a zillion trillion dollars!

New models coming out include:

The 'Chapter11', the 'Dodgie Dodge Dodgem Car' and one called simply 'The Electric Car' (like an electric chair but one that the CEO can commit suicide in while driving after being 'bumped' up the fender by a 'Chapter11 Mark2'!).

Given the choice would you rather buy an American car like a Ford or General Motors product, or buy a German product like BMW or Audi or Mercedes?

I don't know about you but i bet most people would aspire to own a German "normal" car!

I vote Audi......every time.

Can't the Pentagon just buy up all the unsold cars and drop them on unsuspecting Taliban insurgents:

'Look up, Asama Bin Laden - my brave and wonderful commander....... is that a Dodge falling out of the sky!'

'You been smoking too much dope, you fool - don't be so stupid!'

SPLAT!
