On one hand i would say "Go for it" but on the other, looking at your profile, you are looking for someone between 29 and 45, and he is 18 years older than you, so that would put him out of you age range, so think of it like that.

A friend of mine is 29 and he is with someone about 25 years older that him, so i would say "Go for it". Apart from looks, i dont really think its possible to know your type until you find them.

Now he is an out + out gentleman but i felt the age gap was too much.
He met a lady 6 months later + they are very,very happy together 2 + half years on.
I am very good friends with them both,i do not regret my decision but would add that there wasnt chemistry there for me...just friendship.
You have nothing to loose in meeting up + see how you feel then.

Ive gotten to know sumone who is 14yrs older than me, he is just so down to earth and really nice to chat with, hes not from cs.
