i have heard a lot of friends who have said that their parents do not a accept men or women from the internet because of tragic stories from internet dating as compared to meeting a person face to face but we are in a global village internet is just a meeting place so what happens after the internet is most important whether you are true to each other or not..What do you think?

lol that is a good news but some parents think otherwise
I think internet dating can work for some, and not work for others. Just depends on the who, what, where, when, how, etc. For me internet is harder because I'm one who rather have actions instead of words...I believe actions speak louder than words.
It's harder to decipher one's true intentions online as to meeting them offline as well as the person's true personality. For me I just try, and take precaution on both ends.

well its another option to normal dating or searching, even tho in either way noral and internet. I just dont stress and when the rite guy comes around il know it. plus u can sit back and have fun on threads while ur doing it. and with less hard work u can sit at home with a cuppa lol, You get to meet ppl who u wouldnt normally come in contact with and thats a plus.

Because two people meet on a website? Does a black cloud develop and descend over it, because it is a person from a website?
I will add more to this, once I see some opinions.
For my children's generation it is normal, acceptable behaviour for them to meet people on sites, they are much more adept at than we are.
So what our parents think is that it is all really quite seedy meeting a person online.
It does give more opportunity but even though I'm new to this I"m leary of computers anyway(excellent source of info) and far as anything else I question. I prefer to physically see someone and look into they're eyes(window to the soul) so to speak and body language can not be substituted.
Seriously, I have heard that there are many, many people who have met and married etc through the internet, but just not me
No pun as you're response to Do you like food and here Yes I'm sure there have been but percentage wise it's probably low and I wonder how many have lasted.

Yes, but are you talking just having a relationship online? I met my man from here, we live in separate countries. Although we have spent alot of time together, for me telephone and emailing is never enough.
So when we say internet dating, is it having a relationship just over the air waves or is it that we meet via a place such as this and then lead our lives as any couple who say met in a bar!

And that, sir, is the million euro question!!! We are probably never likely to know for sure, so we can only surmise

Relationship online? I wouldn't consider that dating, more like communicating which very well could be a stepping stone to a real relationship which I would think that is the primary goal of these sites for most anyway. I can see since I've been on here that some people use this to occupy themselves for entertainment purposes only and that's fine too.
Hmm. I guessed the question was more specific to dating as this is a "dating site" where you initially connect to meet again, so to speak: i.e., date If it was meant as an exclusive meet and stay online and date forever question, I strike my initial semi--sarcastic comment and side with the lady from Austria.
