If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? This isn't the normal 'where would you be' question. If you could be at any certain time in your life... past, present, or future; or if you could be at a time before or after your lifetime, where would you choose to be? For instance, is there a certain thing in history you would've wanted to witness, or think will happen in the future & you want to witness? Is there a certain time in your life that you would like to go back to & redo, or something you have been looking forward to in your lifetime that you wish were here?

Think about this before you answer. wine

If things go well for us humans.
I'd like to be on a starcruiser. A'la Star Trek.
Just being able to see what else is out there would be pretty cool.

Misread that part.
I would like to be in the future. I usually think in terms of "Now" and "Then"
It would be interesting to see where I'll end up 30 years from now. Will I have children? Will my works be published in something other than 'zines?

It doesn't have to be in your lifetime, Raven. It's actually a pretty open question. It can be in another lifetime. Anytime you wish. wine

The future...... the past is 'history'!

The future is a product of the present, to a certain degree, and I think it could be a wonderful time and place to be because I have a wonderful imagination and 'see' many strange and wonderful and even 'fun' things! grin dancing

I wanted to go back to the summer of 1999 when the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was moved to its new location, just 1,500 feet from the eroding shoreline on Nort Carolina's Outer Banks. I would taken some great photos of that event.

I often think we've seen so many modern marvels invented in our lifetime. What else could they possibly invent that we would say, "How did I ever live without that??"

Here's another question then...
What things do you think could be invented that haven't been yet? What things could be upgraded/made better in some way?

Yes, I'm detracting a bit... but it's my thread. laugh grin

If I could go back about 29 yrs to my past when I first got married and had my son. Those were the two very best things I ever could've done back then.I would give anything to be able to redo that all over again.

I can see what we deem as entertainment taking on new levels.
(sorry about the star trek theme here) But creating a holo type game. We interacte with the games already, but increasing it into manner where interaction is more than words spoken in a mike, or typed on a screen.
Playing games online would be like being there.
Think of the Wii controllers where you have to actually use actions to make something work in the game.

No, see, that's exactly what I'm asking for! thumbs up

I've thought about that whole "Beam me aboard, Scotty" thing myself, several times. Wouldn't it be neat to be able to teleport yourself anywhere in just a moment?head banger

Now that would be great. No place would be out of bounds for us to visit.
Being able to just step into a room with your luggage, and a minute later, be in Japan, or Hawaii. Where-ever you'd like to be.

I'm still waiting for my hovercar to be invented.
Being able to fly without terrible airplane movies and peanuts, but the "are we there yet?" comment would never go away. lol.

There would be soooo many people I'd visit, if this was possible! I wonder if it ever would be possible. I mean, we've succeeded with cloning. Who would've thought that would be possible, 50 years ago? It was just something that George Orwell wrote about in his book, "1984".

I've learned to never say never to inventions & modernizing. When we were learning about things that might be in the future in school, one of them was WATCHING music on TV! Then MTV came along. Another was looking at a person while talking to them, when they weren't there. Thus, the computer webcam. Doesn't this make you wonder what our children & grandchildren will witness in their lifetime?

Good Gravy yes!

I remember people saying that you could never talk to someone in another country for free. The cost would be too much.
Now I can use my webcam and mike.

Or when I was a kid walkie talkies were how you contacted your friends when you were out in the tree-house.
Cell phones now.
Camera's taking digital pictures, being able to get rid of the horrid shot of you with the red eyes no-longer takes the time of development. With a push of a button, no-one can see you look like demon-girl. Or with photoshop on the computer, you can erase that demon eyed look.

Heated windsheild wipers for all cars in winter environs and not just airplanes and heavy equiptment.
Self cleaning rugs. (those robot vaccuums are terrible)
Or the thought that in my future, real bionics for amputees. (there is a few out there, but no great articulation)

Hmmm... tricky question.

On one level, I wanna go back to when I was 18. I had a really bad year my senior with baseball. It cost me a high position in the draft and a lot of money. I still got drafted by the Houston Astros, but did not sign. I signed with the Rockies two years later, but my swing was not there. I'd go back strictly to change my mental approach to the game at that time as well as how I swung the bat. Had I better coaching and mechanics at the plate, I would have had things differently and maybe still playing in the big leagues.

Or, I'd go back to when I was 23 when I quit pro-ball. I gave up too soon. Now look at me, playing in Swedenmumbling

Yes, I saw on TV, a program about a woman with a bionic arm. It actually moved by her using impulses from her brainwaves! Fascinating!

I wish I could have been grown,instead of only 2 in 1969.
At Christmas time of that year,my mother got killed in an auto accident. If I was older, maybe I could have said or done something to prevent the accident. My life would have been totally different if she would have been a part of it.To have known her would have been awesome.
