scribbler83: Having a socialist inclination but coming from a strong working class background, I have mixed views on some of the middle class lefty types. I've always had respect for Mary Robinson though. A Mighty woman.
I hope Michael D is the next President. He's a great man and while we're on the subject of meeting famous people, I met him last year at a book launch and he was lovely. Very chatty and no airs and graces.
Yes he is a lovely man , i met him also, down in IMMA , think he was minister for arts ? My director was on the board and got to know them all quite well
My collection of celebrities I met include: Sharing a gents with Michael D Higgins... Brian Eno in Dublin..had a coffee with him. Richard Branson Ardal O'Hanlon Was at school with Barry McGuigan.
Tom O' Branagáin that used to do Telly Bingo is a really sound fella too. Came up chatting to a few schoolfriends and I 10 years when we were up in RTE for a schools quiz. We didn't even go up to him, he just strolled over and chatted away. Then again he was a kids presenter at the time, so I guess he was trying to please his audience!
