I haven't, at least not yet, and I'm almost due for a holiday.
Met some in person here, and none were scary.

DUBLINGUY1973: It can be a bit daunting at first but it helps if you have met a few people first or if you arrange someone and walk in with them.

Nope, haven't been to one yet but I'm looking forward to the Achill meet. I'm heading on my own so looking forward to seeing how I get on without the backup of my friends.

Not sure i would be that brave!! It just seems that everyone already knows each other from the forums and can be difficult to get into them, so i would be a nervous wrecked in 'the outside world!!!

Nah, it just seems that way when you join first. They are all a very friendly bunch once you actually get there. The key is to get there early so you meet people as they come in and you get the good seats. I find its more difficult to mingle especially when its your first meet when everyone is already there.

Exactly. The important thing to remember is that everyone has been in your shoes at some point. Like i said, they are all a really friendly bunch and i assure you after a while, you will wonder what you were worried about.

Be brave...I have only been to two meets and everyone was brilliant. I chat to people on the forums that I have never met.
When I first joined which is not that long ago I thought that everybody knew each other especially because they often referred to each other by their real names. I found that a bit strange at first but now I like it.
I hope that you both enjoy your first cs meet...you will never look back

Exactly, Dublinguy is right. We have all been there, all have been nervous or shy at one stage, so your not on your own there. What I will say is, come along on the sixth to break for the border(if you can make it). Put your name down on the sign up. Just join us for a fun night out with friends. There are other people going, that will have never been to one before and just as nervous- your more than welcome to bring a friend if you like, although, withing ten mins. I can assure you you'll be chatting away good-o. See you there :)
