Hi Guys

I was doing a bit of snooping on the net and came across this little bit of info. I'm assuming why these guys are exempt is because they would be classed as private yet own by the government or some one may correct me. take for instance an post they employ 9,500 people and bord gais employ 900 give them an average wage of say 40,000 they would each pay a levy of 2880 a year making a total of almost 30million for the government and thats just looking at two of these bodies.

CG PLEASE stop calling it a pension levy. I know that's what biffo called it but that was only because he is not allowed by law to reduce our wages. So he had to put a different name on it.

But it has absolutely nothing whatsoever in any way shape or form to do with pensions..directly or indirectly.

So not only are we paying for the banks..we're paying for all of the above as well!!!

Most of the above would have the same terms and conditions as civil servants..only with better pay of course. They claim to be public servants when it suits them...but not when it costs.

So which politicians are involved with the above bodies? There has to be some reason why they were exempted!!

Many of these are private companies so their staff can't be classed as civil servants.

Not so; they are privately held companies that happen to be owned by government owned and in some cases they were purchased by the State from private shareholders. They trade and act as per their being private undertakings overall though they do have some benefits (and pitfalls) of being State owned.

And numerous redundancies as well; Dublin Bus being a good example.
