It's my experience that our rights were not "given to us by our political party," but guaranteed by the Constitution.
If you want to know which political party is doing it's best to see that those rights are preserved, then I'd respectfully suggest that you take a look at which party has consistently tried to pass laws which infringe upon those rights. (And then choose the other one...)
I should think that if you chose all the political parties on the planet then it has to be the now almost defunct 'Monster Raving Looney Party' led by the now deceased Lord Screaming Such (or was it 'Screaming Lord Such') of Great Britain.......... the party actually had quite a sensible policy stand on most issues of the day, but stood as a 'protest' party against the main stream parties of British politics.

This is my point. Why are there any rights? As long as we do not infringe upon another person or their property everything should be inherently legal. To place it on paper gives the assumption that it can be taken away.

Such a party is truly needed in the US and Canada.

It matters little whether by a Creator or Nature,the Main thing is ,Those Rights belong to Man,the Individual,they are not a "Gift" by some Tribal Chief,or ANY other Governing Body!

Our government can take them away. If you don't believe that, look at Cuba. They were put on paper to make sure we did have them, and to give us something to believe in and preserve. Sadly, too many Americans have been sleepwalking in trust and we've already lost many of them, and made the rest too easy to take away now.

Honestly, both major parties in this country have too much power and too little care for our rights. We need a strong candidate for the Libertarian or some other party.

Wayne Root is on Glenn beck at the moment (Fox) He'll be the libertarian candidate in 12. He's not a goofball either. I'd like to see him succeed.

Indy, the only problem with that is that the one joint action the Democratic and Republican parties have had is to make it nearly impossible for a candidate from another party to have any chance. They did that after Nader almost had a chance. Now the other candidates have to have 10 times as many signatures (literally) to get on the ticket, and there are other steps they've taken to shut them out.
If we really want change in this country, enough people are going to really have to fight for it. I hope enough of us truly want it bad enough.

JasperCrush: Just like cattle, you just need to know when some need to be culled from the herd. Our government, seems to think there is no such thing a cull. It explains why we have such an inferior herd.
