I don't get it, after being normal weight most of my life, never being obsessed with food. I mean I used to only eat because I was hungry and stopped when I was full. Well I think my metabolism slowed when I hit 35 because I put on about 40 pounds. So I decided to diet. Simple enough just stop eating unhealthy foods, no problem. Again food never ruled my emotions, I never craved unhealthy food.

Then I declared 'I am going to lose 40 lbs'. Now all of the sudden I crave bad foods. I get obsessed over icecream, cake, potato chips, ect. What the hell? dunno

i feel with u!i just love the taste of kfc,macd,pizza and its so bad! but taste so good to me!

Tough.

It's not just your slowing down metabolism - it's also the most your system is out of balance, the more your are going to crave wrong food. Not going into long explanations - it is a viscous cycle of a sort.

Getting yourself through the period of eating right for a couple of weeks requires a lot of willpower, but after that no more cravings and it becomes almost effortless. From my experience.

The level of sugars in your body is out of balance. GO and SEE a DOCTOR. Get a proper diet, by medical prescripton. Don't loose time, when your body is not able to balance the sugar level and start "demanding" "sugar food", it may mean you are or you will be with diabitis...

For one year I had a vegestarian diet... that problemm...and now I have diabitis... very low level, under controle, but I must have two tablets per day...

Ok, so diets are hard to stay at, we all cheat and eat junk now and then, but then your body also feels like junk afterwards. If you want an energetic body, you have to exercise, not necessary at a gym everyday, but some sweat won't do you any harm. Sweat is good for you :D

Anyway, if you want to start on a diet that actually works, try this one:

FOODS TO EAT

Buckwheat
Brown Rice
Kauli Crackers (Rye)
Lentils
Millet
Miso Tempeh
Rye Bread (Only)
Rye Crackers
Rice Crackers
Tofu
Whole Meal Pasta

Albacore
Salmon
Swordfish
Tuna
Fish

Red Meat (One serving a week)

Avocado
Almonds (Raw)
Walnuts (Raw)
Olive Oil
Salad
White Cheeses (Feta, mozzarella, etc.)
Fruit (4 servings daily)
Vegetables
Raw Goat's Milk
Natural Yogurt

Multi-vitamin (find a good brand)


FOODS TO AVOID

Shell Fish (They are the filters of the ocean and contain high levels of pollution and heavy metals)

Bottom fish, the taste good, but they also eat all the crap on the seabedfloor, hence they also work as ocean filters.)

Egg Whites (Viruses and fungus grow in egg whites and they destroy vitamin B and Biotin)

White Meats - Chicken, Veal, Pork, Turkey, all foul. (High levels of hormones, estrogen, growth hormones, and antibiotics)

Dairy Milk (The liver cannot metabolize the fat and chemicals)

Soy Milk (It inhibits the enzymes in the body and creates a hormone imbalance)

White Breads (It has yeast and dough conditioners and is also made with bleached flour so it becomes like glue that is very hard to digest)

Homogenized Margarine (Contains animal fats)

Commercially Cooked Pastries (High in fats, sugars, calories, and chemicals)

Here is a mock-up menu that Justin Fortune outlined for one day, so you can get an idea of how this whole diet can be applied to your daily use.

Breakfast - 1 piece of fruit, such as a banana, and a bowl of steel-cut or organic oats.

Snack - Another piece of fruit, or some nuts. Walnuts are great for your tendons and eyesight.

Lunch - A salad with grilled fish marinated (i.e. imejuice and your favourite spices), or oil or balsamic vinegar.

Snack - Fruit or nuts.

Dinner - Same as lunch.

Snack (Optional) - Fruit or nuts.

Now with these ingredients you can be very creative and create your own special dishes. It's not even boring to eat either. Spice it up, marinate the fish with your own specialty :)

Try and stay away from vegetables in supermarkets, if you know an organic farmer buy from him or grow your own. It's easy if you live in a sunny place, all you need is a square wooden box to hold your different pots and your ready to grow your own vegetables. Put some wheels on it so it's easy to move.

Regarding white meat and foul, If you know a hunter or a special farmer, it's a different story (without all the crap hormones and antibiotics). Maybe you know someone that keep animals naturaly as well, then it's safe.

im the same as you.. i get chinese food 3 times a week cant keep away from the stuff. the smell alone gets me going dunno

I guess it's possible if you make it your #1 priority, and are very motivated and very organized. But even, though, with a busy work schedule, not so easy to achieve.
