I remember every Friday rushing home from school as mum made her famous cheese straws, she was a wonderful baker and im ashamed to say that i cant bake at all..

There are several things that remind me of my childhood but most of all I'd have to say wood shavings. My father was a carpenter.
Also I'd say Baked bread.Whenever I make homemade bread the smell of it as it's baking in the oven and the aroma as it fills the room reminds me so much of the times my mother used to bake bread and waking up every morning for school to the smell of homemade bread as it's coming out of the oven.

Food hmm Sunday dinner there was 11 of us, and man. Collard greens, or ham, or fried chicken... Mashed potatoes, or corn, or rice. To go with it. Cornbread or biscuits. Yep all good.

home made bread sure does it for me,love the stuff.. whern i was 7 ,i was coming home from school and dad shot a bear that morning , it was not a good one .i remember coming up the path to the house an the smell of that dam bear was awful. i have not eaten bear for 56 years and i dont miss it .

Sawdust. My Dad is a carpenter so the smell of Sawdust reminds me of when we went to his work site with him.mine is banana bread!made me feel happy when i ate it with custard!

I just made a huge pan of lasagne for my kids. They are grown but they ve my cooking, Garlic bread, and a chef's salad.

My family eats so much food they make Italians look like amateurs. I like the smell of green peppers. Grandma used to fill the house with the smell of perfume, green peppers, and onions. That smell is awesome.

its a dutch snack served on old years eve
they are fried dowballs with raisins coated with powdered sugar.
Its not so much the snack that is great but its a tradition that comes with the turn of the year.
I like old traditions like that...
It reminds me where we come from and how gratefull I am to come from a good family

Reading this reminded me of when I was younger. Holidays like the 4th of July and home made banana ice cream. We would all take turns cranking till it wouldn't turn anymore. Oh the memories.
