druidess6308: I asked why so much my parents actually bought a set of books that were "Tell Me Why" and "Tell Me How"...and I remember reading them a lot.
Morning Dru So did you give those same books to your sons?
I'm intereste in comparing the "why" questions of years ago when you were a child to the "why" questions of today. Did your children ask you the same "why" questions that you asked your parents?
Do you/did you give your children an answer to the same questions you were told "you'll understand when you get older"

When my son was small I had to buy a book explaining many of the questions he would ask us. Things like: Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? The questions never stop!
Ofcourse, I did and now its payback time. I have a child that asks why, how, where, when, who, let me see if its so... I don't mind. She is learning. When I look back at my own childhood most of my questions were answered. I try to do the same for my child, sometimes I ask for a break then I get back to it.
I think people are alot more responsive to the queries of children today.

Hi Kekei.....I think it's good for a child to ask a lot of questions even if we can't give them the answer right away.
Some cultures are more open minded today about answering questions that might embarrass parents of my generation.

No, my parents still have them. I don't remember my sons driving me crazy with the "why" questions either, though. But then, I was working when they were young, and their father was the stay-at-home parent because of his back, so if they asked those questions a lot, they most likely asked them of him.

Why do they do that mommy, why did that happen daddy.
Your parents couldn't tell you the answer to all your why questions so they said "you'll understand when you get older".
You probably said it to your children when they asked "why can't I....."
Thinking back to your childhood and your children's childhood, what were the "why" questions.
In today's society, would the "why" questions of your childhood be answered or would they still be put on hold for another time?
