I've great memories from there.
People really charming and I've made my first horse-riding on the tablelands.
The funny bit is that the guy who chose the horse (a white one !!!) for me was from Geneva.....

Lived in Cairns early 60s and early 70s. My english was pretty good, but i did pick up the habit of ending sentences with AY. I think they killed Cairns in the early 80s and put something else there. Used to be the tallest building was 3 storeys and there was no traffic lights at all. And Kizzy, in the 60s and 70s the barbary coast was as rough as.

Let's all go back to Cairns! We could populate it so that it has to be the Capital of Queensland ... Nah, we wouldn't want to do that to Cairns.

Yeah, they are killing all the good places. Even Darwin is a shadow of what it used to be. IT dies when they closed the Cage Bar at Lims.
