Fosters is still brewed here by Heineken Ireland in Cork; however it's one of many lager brands that they now carry so some pubs are dropping it from the taps due to lower sales, marketing indifference and changes in delivery arrangements since Beamish (Who brewed it till this year) closed. Fosters were in severe competition with Bavaria so it may simply be a case of your pub moving to a different beer.
Miller will be receiving a massive push in pubs this autumn so it may prove a good beer to move to soon enough with plenty of freebies at the ready.
