lorax888: Parents tend to not have a lot of practice before becoming parents. Our institutions have the mentality of groop instruction, or to say treat many as one. This destroys creativity.
I realy don't believe we have left this collective harmony but this harmony is primal.
Dennis

Great points, Dennis wave

Even if first-time parent(s) are not that young or if they are not the first-time parent(s),

depending on what you meant by :) not having a lot of practice,

parenting is still the toughest job there is, many people have no clue on how-to mainly because of how they themselves were raised, IMO.

Of course there is no one-fits-all broad-brush outline on how-to, but if I had to choose one I'd say it in title of a book I saw once: 'The greatest gift you can give your children is to love your spouse'.

We all have these I-can't-take-this-s.hit-anymore days once in while, Wall.

Not letting these kind of days turn into weeks or even months - main concern.

Laura25: No, no one should tell anybody how long,

it wouldn't make any sense,

becuse the length and intensity of the grieving process is unique for every person, too many individual factors are involved in these experiences.

However many people seek help and expect to be told how to handle it and if they follow that advice they will become better. Many people don't take responsibility for their own recovery.

If we need help, seek it, but in the final analysis set a plan to get on with your life.

Yes I believe certain people benefit from it. It is not for everyone nor do I believe it works for everyone. I support the group sessions more than the inidividual ones. These allow you to sit and reflect on the issue and see how others are dealing with it.

CuspofMagic: I think looking cheerful ,smiling and being very pleasant etc is a way of diffusing what may be affecting one on the inside and a good start.

taking time to really look and feel all the emmotions and accepting that life throws up these challenges

Consciously working it from the outside in?

Yes, there is something in it too. As a part of the process.
