try cleaning with then follow the steps from a search. the problem with this type of malware is when you reboot it reinfects your pc. and the pop ups are fake messages telling you your pic is infected and to click on the fake links. i've had to reinstall windows in some cases.

When you get your PC sorted, make a bootable cd with a preloaded, runable anti-virus program, that way, in the future you can boot up and clean the infection without loading the virus into memory.

Better still through out MS crap and load Linuxprofessor

Change your antivirus program. Norton is renowned for not catching all viruses and even creates problems of their own. I have used ESET NOD 32 for 3 years now and had only one attack on my computer which was dealt with by the antivirus program before it got to any files.

agreed norton and mcafee both suck even if you keep the virus updates up to date or the virus is new.

You chose to install it from a popup.

Download Combofix and run it. Them download and run malwarebites to clean up the other junk.

If you paid for the thing you downloaded call your credit card company to stop payment and cancel the card right away. People have lost plenty of money when these jokers started to drain accounts.

When Malwarebites is done running scan the list of found items before you repair them if you see words like "Bank", "banker" or "password" change all of your on line banking and other passwords. It would be a good idea to change them anyway if you have had the same ones for a few months.

Sorry the morning coffee has still not kicked in. The virus warning is part of a package from a fake AV/AS that came from the game site.

Kill the messenger and the SOB that programed it.
