Speaking of logs on the fire......I believe it'll be cool enough tonight for Slim to use the fireplace since he's home.

Thanks for visiting my Avon walk page. Let me share a little about myself with you.
In the picture you see, that’s me on the left and Lisa on the right. I met Lisa when we both attended the police academy to become officers. That was almost 20 years ago. She was one of the most selfless people I knew and was a courageous fighter during her nine year battle with breast cancer. But, on March 7, 2009 Lisa’s fight ended.
I really believe everyone can make a difference in this world. I know Lisa made a difference in mine and everyone she knew. We all just need to find our niche. No task or contribution is too small. Whether it’s a random act of kindness for a stranger or a generous gift to a loved one - doing something kind for someone else makes a difference in someone’s life and therefore makes the world a better place.
I’ve decided to try to make the world a better place by joining the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this October 10-11. It’s a 39.3 mile walk over two days in New York. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. Did you know that a woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime? Or that this year over 40,000 women will lose their lives to breast cancer? Or, did you know that in the time it takes you to review my Avon walk page someone will have lost their life to breast cancer?
I am walking in Lisa’s name and asking that you support me in my journey by making a tax-deductible contribution.
I thought I would pop in and help you out before I head to the land of work. Then I read the dreaded S word. SNOW I have to go now becuase I get twitchy just thinking about it.
