damo9: at first i thought this was just some prank or a joke but reading what the op of this thread has left and hearing this being discussed on talk back radio stations in australia i soon relized it was no joke but what i am finding confussing what judge would allow the atheists to have ther own holiday and would the bosses who thes atheists work for alow them to have ther day off ?
we already have easter christmas boxing day new years eve anzac day and long weekends in australia
not even the gay community has a holdiay so why would a judge allow thes atheists to have ther way ?
what i want to know what month are the atheists looking at calling it a national holiday ?ther will be loss of wages if the courts allow this i know employers they will not be persuaded

And i say this because the world is not really divided along the ethno-religious and cultural line as it used to be before 50 or 100 years. the world is becoming smaller and smaller as far as the interaction among the people from different religious and cultures are concerned. More and more people from different parts of the world are joining their hands in common causes like co-existence, peace and harmony..more and more people are marrying among from different cultures, religions and ethnicities. Actually, in Mississippi, our state Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Courts, Chancery Courts, County Courts, as well as some others are elected. Much the same when I lived in Texas. Which means that many judges in the country are indeed elected.

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned."

If the "atheist" asked for a holy day, it sounds like he was very confused, and probably a mental patient.
But, since he did not specify a day, he left it to the judge's discretion; so there is no reason to complain, he got what he asked for.
