In Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned."

This reminds me of an episode of the show "Eli Stone"...the lawyer that has visions...
ali110: Athiest Holy day,How is it possible that a judge select that for athiests?it was i mean.
Yes,i blieve in bible and i Blieve that is the words of God and i blieve that Bible is a true Book
We have a day we celebrate here called fools day.its on April 1st.In other words the judge was saying an atheist is a fool if he doesnt believe in God,so he gave them april fools day as their day.LOL
I cannot imagine that an atheist would bring about such a discrimination suit. That has to be a hoax or a joke of some sort.
What I can imagine is a Florida (or any bible-belt(ed)) judge to say something so ignorant Afterall, judges are elected, not promoted based on performance

friends4now: I think that judge has been on the bench too long.
I would demand an impartial judge because there is a separation of church and state therefore no judge can. quote scripture while on his bench.
mo but than again I don't believe in the christian view of "God"
Like many others, you misunderstand this law. Our laws were written according to the Bible. We must swear on the Bible before giving testimony in courts.
Separation of Church and state, does NOT mean that the church and its beliefs are to stay out of government affairs!!! Quite the opposite is true. It was written to keep the Government OUT of the church's affairs, meaning the Government can NOT regulate what the church believes or have any control over religious beliefs.
Now, in recent years, ever since Roe vs. Wade, which set precedence, a false belief is being propagated in our country, of the opposite stature.
Let the fools have their day in court and their Holiday!!

Exactly! If a judge upholds the Christian God and the Bible as absolute, it only makes sense that if the Bible calls an "Atheist" a Fool for denying the existence of God, and politically there's a day appointed for Fools, celebrated April's 1st, then Atheist = Fool, Fool's day = Atheist Holiday
No brainer...
And Scubadiva...judges are appointed not promoted on performance?
I would also say there's no medication for dumb...
Although, if this is true, I will say that the judge in question was very, very clever. A very astute response for someone who was obviously trying to obtain some personal gain.

It is a joke.
But if it wasn't...Florida is not considered part of the Bible Belt of the South and judges are appointed, not elected. So it could have happened but I don't think an aethist would ask for a holy day since they don't believe in "holy".
