I agree with others here. Sometimes to enjoy your life, you have to be tough with yourself about your past.
It's easy to focus on how great an ex-boyfriend was - but surely there were real reasons that you two broke up? I don't think the universe conspires to split couples up who belong together.
This guy was wrong for you because another guy is right for you. That's exciting, not sad. He could be anywhere, you might meet him tomorrow.
In the meantime, what are you doing for you? What are your goals and plans besides meeting a new guy? What are you interested in doing/learning/seeing? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hope you are focussing on yourself as much as hoping for a new relationship.
