I knew a girl in high school that was the prettiest sweet girl around. I told her how pretty she was and how special. It was the last day of school that year and I did not see her until the next school year.

She became involved with a football player, a smart**s, family had some showing in town, he had things ( dad's money paid for ), and he impressed the girls. But there was nothing to him really, mainly smart**s and high mindedness about himself.

She married him. dad's money was gone, he was lazy, self centered, he played with his toys while his family suffered. He had guns, four wheelers, deer hunted, nice truck and clothes. Their two boys had anything they wanted.

Many times during the years, I saw her with black eyes, bloody lips, bruises, her clothes where shabby, her hair was never taken care of professionaly, her teeth where rotting in her mouth for lack of dental care.

Each time I see her and we speak, she looks deep into my eyes and her eyes tear a bit. I know she remembers what I told her years ago and it brings a little joy to her bleek life.

I have seen too many good ones go this way. It is a sad thing too see and feel inside my heart. Then to know that I would have treated them so much better.......Rillyniceguy!

Sorry buddy, that's a sad story but even sadder is the fact that it happens so often. The time right after high school is when all or most of them start.
You always think back to that time when you had your chance but did not have enough confidence in yourself to go after her more aggressively. Those are the painful lessons that we learn. And they always suck.
