I've a female friend that calls up sometimes, and if I'm watching something while she's there, I've to replay it so I can hear what's happening, as I miss literally every word of it with her talking. She stops just long enough to take a quick breath.

I can understand that does happen with an ordinary programme but with football the only sound you need to hear is the ref's whistle. The commentary is only secondary to the actual game.
