See others in bad relationships? Well really its your own responsibility to make your relationship work, and maybe comparing yourself to others isn’t good. Id rather look at a bad relationship then look at my own and think wow how lucky am I to be so happy.
Call it even Better to be single or happy in a relationship than to in a bad one.

Thanks for the feedback. So it seems the single life is the way to go based on that. As for the gold digging it is more an observation than an opinion. Maybe it's just Ireland... I don't know.
The more you plan the less likely you are to succeed. If you live your life happy to be single, you never know when someone might pop up.

Good point! I guess you can't really plan for it when it is the right person. But some people get into relationships just for the sake of it.

Well, having kids, I cant comment on the freedom bit, but for the rest of it...
I don't live in a cardboard box on the side of the road, but I'll certainly never have to worry about a woman only wanting me for my wallet or possessions.
As for seeing people in bad relationships, that wouldn't be enough to put me off. I've been single for most of my life, I definitely don't want to be alone for the rest of my life.
