steve6611: Great input Ging , as I also recomended to her in an email, when I undertake family history work I always recomend to clients to start with the present day , then slowly work backwards. Talk to people in your life that may remeber events that took place maybe clearer or remember dates, etc & always keep duplicates
I didn't read other people's advices. but I'd like to tell you what I did before--writing diary everyday.
I remember I couldn't sleep if I didn't write diary on my bed everyday when I was young girl. I wrote what I met in my work, I wrote what feeling was for this boy or that boy. hehe....etc.
After many years you can find you have a gift of yourself. it's a paper record of you life. But I've been stopped for many years after I have my daughter.

This is good editing practice, seeing how most agents, publishers make you edit your own stuff at first anyway. You got mail
